Raymond F. Messer

Raymond Messer served as Walter P Moore President and CEO for 21 years, and he led the firm through exponential growth in employees, services, and locations. The firm expanded from four to 15 U.S. offices and two international offices under Mr. Messer’s leadership and also won numerous prestigious awards for engineering solutions.

With more than 40 years of experience in engineering design, project management, and construction, Mr. Messer is now focused on serving on construction and engineering and not-for-profit boards of directors. He is a board member and chair of the corporate governance and nominating committee of Sterling Construction, a public construction company headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas. He also serves on two engineering company boards and two not-for-profit boards focusing on the education of Texas youth.
