Data Modernization
Texas has rich longitudinal data linking K-12, higher education, and workforce outcomes. The data is an extraordinary tool for informing policy and practice, but the current system housing the information is outdated, making it difficult for stakeholders to readily use the resource to make informed, timely decisions. To address this, THECB has embarked on an ambitious data infrastructure modernization project, partnering with THEF to leverage public and private resources to engage state and national technology, data experts and practitioners to make data more accessible, secure, and actionable.
Data-informed decision making is imperative to achieving equitable student outcomes. Among other tools, some of the first data dashboards released will be tied to the metrics of Building a Talent Strong Texas goals, empowering students and families, colleges and universities, employers, and policymakers to make timely decisions based on access to robust data.
