As a trusted partner and philanthropic agent for higher education in Texas, the Texas Higher Education Foundation THEF serves as a catalyst for purposeful and strategic impact at scale.
Our work focuses on raising funds to support partnerships and priorities in support of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s strategic plan for higher education, Building a Talent Strong Texas. We believe achieving the vision set forth in the strategic plan will lead us to a future where Texas is among the nation’s highest achieving and globally competitive states. This vision fuels the Foundation’s mission to catalyze purposeful and strategic impact at scale.
The Texas Higher Education Foundation (THEF) was created to serve as the official nonprofit partner of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
Since 2001, when three Coordinating Board Members formed it as a designated 501(c)(3), the Foundation has supported the higher education and workforce needs of students, businesses, and communities across Texas.
To date, $35 million has been raised to advance higher education in Texas, with $14 million secured since Commissioner Keller began leading the THECB in 2019.
