Generation TX (GenTX) is a grassroots social movement aimed at creating a college-going culture in Texas, particularly among underrepresented high school students and their families.
Launched in 2010, GenTX is equal parts inspiration and information. GenTX works with high schools to help communicate and clarify the steps students and families need to take to successfully get on the path to a college education. GenTX efforts include college-going culture events, social media campaigns, and assistance with financial aid and admissions applications.
The success of Texas students and the strength of the state’s economy depend on ensuring Texas high school students are supported in their pursuit of higher education. GenTX creates meaningful connections with Texas’ high school students and positively supports their college-going decisions.
Inspiring GenTX story: Araceli’s dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher keeps her focused on doing well in school and becoming the first in her family to go to college.
